My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and honeymoon in Oahu. I wanted to surprise him with a nice bar and got reservations to Lava Lounge. Cortney was our bartender and was very personable and friendly with our experience! My favorite was the Finding Dory and my husband’s being the Smoking Canon. Would def recommend coming here to try their unique cocktails and ambiance.
A spontaneous night turned into one of the most memorable nights of our week long trips in Hawaii! We were greeted by the lovely Cortney who made us feel at home right away. She provided us complimentary rum shots as part of a tradition of “welcoming us into her home.” She set the tone for the night and we could NOT stop talking to her. We even came back another time during our trip just for Cortney (and the drinks made by her of course). We ordered the Finding Dory and the Maui Pineapple Sour, along with the Krakatoa Chicken and fries. To top it off, we ordered the Pineapple Crème Brûlée, which was to die for! A must to visit when in Hawaii to try their drinks and befriend Cortney, which made us feel like Ohana.
Austin was an awesome bartender! Started us off with a little complimentary taste of Rum, which I didn’t get a pic of but I see in other reviews. Great place to get high quality, unique craft drinks. Median price per drink is $25 so little on the pricier side but seriously worth it. Angostura Pina Colada (pictured on the right) was so interesting and one of the best drinks I’ve ever tasted. They also have a small menu for apps or is attached to Tiki bar and grill. The bar has about 10 seats total so might want to make a reservation, but we got there right at 5pm when they opened and were seated right away on a Monday with no reservation. If I ever come back to Hawaii, this will be my first stop.
Lava Lounge was such a great find. The Smoking Cannon was bold, smoky, and beautifully presented, while the Island Cold Brew Martini was rich, smooth, and perfect for coffee lovers. The bartender, Courtney, made the experience even better—excellent, warm, and genuinely welcoming. Great cocktails, great service, and a fun intimate vibe. I’d absolutely come back.
If you are able to, come here for some unique tasty cocktails! Cortney was our bartender and she made our experience that much more enjoyable while we were here in Oahu.
