I had a full (and honestly hectic) day at Methodist yesterday—mammogram, diagnostic ultrasound, oncology follow-up, and lab work for another provider in the Smith Tower and Outpatient Center. Even with how busy everything was, the experience stood out in the best way. When I first went down to the lab, they were clearly backed up, but Becky Woods greeted me with kindness and professionalism. I let her know I had imaging upstairs and would come back, and she handled it with such grace. I came back down in between appointments, and although they were still busy (which speaks to how trusted they are), they still made the effort to try to get me in. I had to leave again for my oncology visit, and by that point I was fasting, hungry, and running on fumes—but I came back one more time because I’d already committed. That’s when Becky stepped in again. She remembered me, advocated for me, and said, “You’ve been waiting, let me take care of you.” She got me in right away, and that level of attentiveness meant everything. Brandi, the phlebotomist, was just as incredible. Gentle, kind, and skilled I barely felt the needle. If you’ve ever had lab work done, you know how rare that is. From start to finish, the team was professional, compassionate, and truly cared. Even on a busy day, they made me feel seen and taken care of. And to top it all off I received amazing news at my oncology appointment: I’m in remission and have a clean bill of health for another year. 🙏 I’ll absolutely be coming back and will be requesting Brandi every time. Experiences like this remind you how much good care matters not just medically, but human to human. Highly recommend Methodist and this entire team.
