My recent experience with Garage Door Vets has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. A couple of weeks ago, this company serviced my garage door and required payment through Zelle before they would even begin the job. I paid them without issue because I believed I was supporting a veteran-owned business. My father was a veteran who passed away a year ago, so businesses that represent and support veterans mean a lot to me. Today, while trying to send a $650 Zelle payment to a different company that also had “garage” in their name, I accidentally selected Garage Door Vets from my contacts. The moment I realized the mistake, I contacted them immediately to explain what happened. Instead of simply returning the money—which they could clearly see came from a previous customer—they have been giving me the runaround all day. First they told me I had to contact the bank, which is not how Zelle works. Then the person I needed to talk to was out for lunch. After that, they said they couldn’t send money to someone they weren’t “affiliated with,” even after verifying that I was the same customer they had serviced just a few weeks ago. They even tried to say businesses can’t refund Zelle payments, which simply isn’t true. I called them every hour on the hour only to be given a different excuse each time. They even told me once that they had to talk to the accounting department even though they saw my transaction. What company has an accounting department and they use Zelle as a form of payment? They are playing with my intelligence and this is going too far! The last call I made I was told that I had to wait until Monday. We’re talking about $650 that they know does not belong to them. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic integrity is extremely disappointing. What hurts the most is the message behind the brand. It suggests honoring veterans and standing for what’s right. My father fought for this country, and it’s heartbreaking to see a company use the name “Vets” while refusing to do the right thing for a customer. They may say they’ll fight for their country, but apparently they won’t even let their customers fight for what’s right. I truly expected better.

Had an amazing experience with TJ and the team at Veterans. Extremely detailed when explaining the issues, very thorough, great communication and quality of work. First company I worked with charged me an outrageous price for getting my garage door back on its tracks without any proper diagnosis/repair which led to continued failures. TJ with Veterans responded quickly and corrected my issues. Have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

Sergio was our technician. On time, polite, professional. He found our problem immediately. I knew it was chain related but he found a bigger issue with gears / sprocket at the motor. I didn't realize how much that repair would make it run like a new garage door. Thanks for the service. Highly recommended.
