A friend and I have been wanting to play Axedale for a while now as we always drive past it on our way to an annual weekend social comp at Rich River and it looks interesting and inviting as you drive by. We decided to give it a go this year on our way back from Rich River. Being a Monday the clubhouse/pro shop wasn’t open when we arrived. Luckily for us we approached Greg Hamilton who was busy doing course maintenance. He helped us out initially by showing us the automated green fee system they have so we could pay our green fees. The next hurdle we had was that no public carts were available till the afternoon (we didn’t have time to wait that long). With sharing arthritic knees and lung capacity issues between us, walking was going to be a challenge on such a hilly course (especially on a 30°+ day). Greg came to the rescue again by ringing around various club members/officials and eventually reaching Sue (sorry didn’t get a surname) and between them managed to arrange for us to use a local member’s cart for our round. Absolutely fantastic that both Greg and Sue took the time to arrange this so that we could experience the golf course. Thank you very much. We loved the course, it was in excellent condition and the layout is brilliant (and lovely scenery as well). We’ve mentioned this to our Rich River comp friends and chances are we will try to incorporate a hit at Axedale next year🙂

Axedale Golf Club is a surprise packet, I've been lucky to play hundreds of golf courses all over the world and this little gem made an impression on me. The greens were beautifully presented and rolled very well, this is a sure sign the greenskeeper knows what they are doing. The layout is undulating and keeps you interested the whole way round. Congratulations to the small team who make this golf course such a pleasure to play.

Good course well kept and true greens. Challenging and lovely club house. Maybe a bit more direction from hole to hole but that's about it. Crossing the highway is different but adds to the country feel.

Axedale Golf Course is a green oasis all year round. It is a fantastic layout with lots of challenging features. The fairways are so lush you just want to lay down and roll on them. If you want to find a nice and quite country golf course that is superb in summer and autumn when most courses are bone dry…this is the place!! Love it!

What a gorgeous golf course. A lovely drive from Bendigo. Set in lovely bush land. You need to be able to hit a golf ball straight, lots of trees. Well maintained highly recommend it.
