We came to Bendigo from geelong to celebrate a birthday with dinner drinks and an escape room. We book dinner here and was very disappointed first they said it was against there policy to make shots for us. That was fine so we got drinks and dinner 3 of us had the parma's i normally love a parma but this was over cooked dry and the edges were very crispy salad was if any very little dressing. Chips where good. Didnt finish our meals left disappointed sorry but wont be back here.
We booked the hotel room through booking.com for a Saturday night. Unbeknownst to us booking.com changed the night to middle of the week. This meant we had to book another room for the Saturday night when we were going to be visiting Bendigo, ie we had to pay twice for a room! Tracey and Connor definitely looked after us because of this booking.com "SCAM". They upgraded us to the Princess room and gave us a discount. On the night/day Connor provided us with excellent service, we could not have asked for more (except our money back from booking.com). The restaurant and bar staff were also very helpful and friendly. We definitely would stay again but next time we will book directly with the Shamrock.
Such a lively spot with plenty of space, making it perfect whether you’re there for a casual meal or a bigger group catch-up. The atmosphere is buzzing without feeling cramped, which is always a win. Came in for the Sunday roast and it definitely delivered. No trimmings or crackle, just a solid, hearty roast done right. They gave extra gravy for free, which honestly makes all the difference as there wasn't enough gravy on the roast. Ordering is super easy. You just head up to the front, place your order, give your table number, and relax. No fuss, no waiting around trying to flag someone down. Food came out pretty quickly. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall good vibes of the place.
Well, to stop at an historic hotel, I expected some of that history to show in the accommodation. My friend and I had the two bedroom suite. It was nice, but lacked any character. The one big problem was leaving the room. Up 6 steps onto entrance, open the door, then step down one step to allow the door to open
Came here at the beginning of a long weekend for a place to stay - wonderful staff who provided great recommendations and great food and a nice relaxed vibe. Not at all what I might have originally expected ! Enjoy a nice meal here - I’ll take more photos next time 😊
