I had foot surgery with Dr. Maria Buitrago through Surgery Plus, and I couldn't be happier with the results. She did an outstanding job from start to finish, ensuring I felt comfortable and informed throughout the process. The surgery went smoothly, and my recovery has been seamless. Dr. Buitrago's expertise and care truly stand out, and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a skilled and compassionate podiatrist. Thank you, Dr. Buitrago, for your excellent work!
I’m really thankful for Dr. Maria Buitrago. She’s kind, patient, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. Her knowledge and careful diagnosis helped save my dad’s leg when others couldn’t figure out what was wrong. You can tell she truly cares about her patient: not just treating them, but making sure they understand what’s going on. I highly recommend her, especially for anyone with diabetes or serious foot concerns.
2 years after my surgery, I am still having issues with my big toe touching the pavement. I am having to have a pen removed as walking has become painful. My first bunionectomy by Dr. Sands turned out fabulously, my second with Maria didn't even though the surgery wasn't as extensive.
Don’t go to this Specialist- she will tell you to change your insurance when it’s not necessary and also suggest for you to pay some tests out of pocket instead of going through the insurance for better coverage and doctors should not do that; that is not ethical and can be confusing for patients as well. If you are referred to a specialist, you should not have to change your insurance b/e that means your primary doctor already verified they are in-network. The primary doctor trusts specialists like these to do the right thing and help the patients and the specialist turns around tries to lie to the patient to financially gain at someone else’s expense.
I am incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Buitrago! As an avid long-distance runner, I struggled with bunions on both feet for decades. The fear of losing my ability to run kept me from pursuing surgery for far too long. Now, nearly six weeks post-surgery, I haven’t been cleared to run just yet — but I can already tell that I’m going to run better than ever before! Dr. Buitrago’s expertise and care have given me so much hope for my recovery, and I feel confident and optimistic about my prognosis. I can’t thank her enough for helping me get back on track!
